About Gower Electric Co
From a solar farm to a local ecosystem
The project has grown into something much bigger than a source of renewable electricity.
The site is now home to a growing collection of local businesses, growers, makers and environmental projects, including Digging Deep CIC, Petallica Flower Farm, Bay Print Co, Wild Plant Paper and Prenteg Ltd.
Together, they are part of a wider local ecosystem built around enterprise, sustainability, creativity, food production and community.
This is an important part of what Gower Electric has become: a renewable energy project that helps create the conditions for other good things to happen.

A working farm alongside renewable energy
Prenteg Ltd is part of a working landscape, where renewable energy sits alongside traditional farming and woodland management.
Sheep graze around the solar panels, helping to manage the land naturally while making productive use of the space around the farm.
Prenteg Ltd also manages woodland on the farm and produces firewood, creating a further use for locally sourced timber while supporting the ongoing management of the land.
It’s a simple example of how renewable energy can work alongside agriculture and land management. The solar farm generates clean electricity, while the land continues to support farming, woodland and local enterprise.
For Gower Electric, generating renewable energy is only part of the story. As a Community Interest Company, we are committed to making sure the value created by our project is shared with the wider community.

Our connection with the Gower Heritage Centre brings another important part of the Gower Electric story to life.
At its heart is Y Felin Ddwr, a historic water-powered flour mill dating back to the 12th century. For generations, the mill has harnessed the natural power of water. A reminder that renewable energy has long been part of Gower’s story.
Today, our solar generation at Killan Fach Eco Farm carries that tradition forward in a new form.
Water power then. Solar power now. A greener future ahead.
We also work closely with the businesses and organisations based at the Heritage Centre, including We Are Woven, Essential Cycles, InspireU Studios and Shed Head Cider.
Together, these connections bring heritage, renewable energy and local enterprise into one shared story showing how the natural resources of Gower can continue to create energy, opportunity and value for generations to come.
